SWBA Member Sponsored Events

In addition to those events and activities sponsored by the association as a whole, there are a variety of events sponsored by individual members.

They are open to SWBA members and their guests, and they include such things as:

  • House jams at members' houses (e-mail Carol Lister at tclister@gmail.com for further information)

  • Special campouts on members' property

All members of the association receive the  bi-monthly newsletter (the Bluegrass Soundboard) where these and other events and activities are announced.

For those who are not yet members but would like to find out more about all of our events and activities, we'd love to have you join the fun!  Click HERE to find out how.

SWBA Sponsored Campouts

Every year SWBA sponsors member campouts and jams, including the Annual SuperJam held in May, when the association members come together to hold their annual meeting, nominate board members, listen to member bands, dance and whoop 'n' holler, and, above all visit and jam.

Additional member campouts in beautiful settings  are sponsored by SWBA every year.

SWBA Sponsored Program: Bluegrass in Schools

SWBA is currently conducting a School Program that brings bluegrass music and instruments into the classroom, thereby introducing this uniquely American form of music to the next generation.

Since 2006, students attended Huck Finn Jubilee. Accompanied by Eric Nordbeck, their instructor and SWBA School Program Chairperson, they have appeared before a very responsive and enthusiastic audience on the Huck Finn main stage and on the SWBA stage in the Entertainers camp area..

The SWBA School Program uses donated instruments and funds.  Anyone who wishes to donate to the program may do so by contacting Lloyd Morris at education@s-w-b-a.com, or by clicking HERE.  All funds contributed for the School Program go to a special bank account set up exclusively for that purpose and will not be used for any other SWBA expenses.
