PARADISE
JUNCTION is a bluegrass band formed
in 1996 in Orange County, California. The band has performed
in many venues throughout southern and central California.
Appearing regularly at the Orange County Fair, they were the
first place winners in the ’99 Los Angeles County Fair band
contest. The band specializes in good, clean, family
entertainment with an emphasis on having fun. Their repertoire
includes a variety of material from traditional and gospel, to
contemporary bluegrass, all in an acoustic format. In addition
to the instruments, their music includes 3 part harmony
vocals.

Member Profiles
Terre
Barbin – Rhythm
Guitar - Vocals
- was born and raised in southern
Texas. It was a short move to Cheyenne, Wyoming at the age of
11, where she started singing and playing guitar with a grade
school folk group and with the All Cities Children Choir. Her
love for music continued through the years as she sang with
various folk, rock, and gospel groups. Terre’s association
with bluegrass began in 1995 when she joined Paradise Junction
as a singer and guitar player. Terre is now involved in
writing songs for the band also. She has developed a great
love for the traditional and progressive blend of the
bluegrass music of Paradise Junction.
Marcia
Bruno – Bass
- Vocals
- was born in the state of Colorado, near a
little town called Cripple Creek. She remembers “goin up
Cripple Creek” at a very early age. Marcia plays several
instruments, but started out as a child playing the accordion.
She started performing on stage at the age of 11. Since that
time she has played the piano and organ for several bands, and
she has been a church pianist and organist. She started
playing bass in 1995 as she joined Paradise Junction and now
also plays the guitar and writes songs for the band. Since she
started playing the bass, bluegrass music has become a very
significant part of her life.
Eric
Nahrwold – Banjo
– Lead Guitar – Vocals

was born in the state of New York. He has been a bluegrass
fan since he saw Dan Crary, John Hickman, and Byron Berline
perform at the Cal State Fullerton Pub in the late 70’s. His
favorite musical influences include: California, Bill Monroe,
Flatt & Scruggs, Guy Clark, John Prine, Credence
Clearwater Revival, Johnny Cash, and many others.
Larry
Holt – Mandolin
– Lead Guitar - Band Leader
- was born in the
town of Nowata, a small farming town in northeastern Oklahoma.
Growing up on a farm in Oklahoma and a ranch in central
California, country and bluegrass music was always a part of
his family’s life. Larry’s first band experience was
playing rhythm guitar in a country gospel band at the age of
16. He has gone on to play Travis style lead guitar for
several different southern gospel bands around southern
California. In the early 1990’s he started playing mandolin
and formed Paradise Junction along with Marcia, Terre, and
Eric in 1995.
