Member Band Web Page Guidelines

In order to offer this service for free, we have developed these

general guidelines to facilitate the webmanager's ability to create

    and maintain such web pages.

  1. Availability: All bands that are members of SWBA that do not have their own websites are eligible to have a free page posted with a link from the “Bluegrass Member Bands” webpage.

  2.    Appearance: Free Member Band Web Pages all have the same general appearance (except for any that were put in place prior to the implementation of these guidelines).  Click HERE and HERE to see  examples.

  3.   Information Content: The following is what typically is placed on the Free Member Band Web Page:

  • A picture of the band members assembled (color or black and white)

  • A list of members with individual bios (bios can be brief summaries that our webmanager can use to write up the information about the band members)

  • A list of upcoming appearance dates

  • A list of any available CDs and information about how to obtain them

  • Information about contacting the band (e-mail, regular mail, phone, name of person to be contacted)

  • Additional information: It is possible to put additional information (such as, more pictures, excerpts from music reviews, CDs for sale, including brief audio samples, etc.) on a Free Member Band Web Page--just let our webmanager know.

  4.   Information Format: If possible, submit all information to be placed on the Free Member Band Web Page via e-mail to the SWBA webmanager at  webmanager@swba.com.   Pictures can be attached to e-mail files.  If this is not possible, regular mail can be used; write to SWBA, 2241 Nisqually Rd. #102, Apple Valley, CA 92308.

  5.   Updates: Free Member Band Web Pages may be updated at least once a month, by submitting revisions and/or new material to the webmanager, preferably via e-mail.  Such changes will be made by the webmanager as soon as possible, depending on the webmanager’s schedule and availability; in most cases such changes will be done within one week of submission.

NOTE: The SWBA webmanager will eliminate any out-of-date information that appears on a Free Member Band Web Page.  This will primarily apply to appearance dates that have been passed in time.
