Bluegrass, Bluejeans and Beyond
July 25, 2009 Big Bear Discovery Center, 40971 North Shore
Drive (Highway 38; North Shore Big Bear Lake). Fawnskin, CA,
92333. Featuring: Sligo Rags, Silverado Bluegrass Band,
Fiddlin' Foresters, Tribute to Bluegrass Roots of Johnny Cash,
Ramblin' Rangers and much more! Second annual bluegrass
festival to raise awareness and funds for Forest Aid, a 1.5
million tree planting initiative in partnership with the event
producer, San Bernardino National Forest Association, along
with TreePeople and the U.S. Forest Service in restoring the
burn areas from the 2003 and 2007 wildfires on the San
Bernardino National Forest. Music, artist showcase and jammin',
food and nature-themed crafts and activities for the kids will
be available for the entire family to enjoy a day of bluegrass

May 30, 2009: Bluegrass Video
website created: Carl Carlson of the
Southeastern Bluegrass Association, has put together a
free website,
Bluegrass on the Tube, that has YouTube videos of
bluegrass performers. The website currently has over 250
videos in the library, representing a wide variety of
artists and styles of bluegrass. New videos are added
weekly. In addition to direct access to the entire library,
there is Subscription Service, also free, which delivers a
new video each day. (no spam, easy opt-in, easy opt-out).
April 25, 2009: Bluegrass Legend
Doyle Lawson to release new CD: "Lonely Street" will be
released on May 5th, 2009 Rounder Records Release Marks 30
Years of Recording with His Band Quicksilver.

March 7, 2009: Nashville, TN
- Del McCoury's record label has announced their
upcoming May 12th release of Celebrating 50 Years of Del
McCoury. The 50 year anniversary package will be a 5-disc CD
special edition box set embracing the 50-years of bluegrass
music from bluegrass music's legend. The 70 year old guitar
master has put together this historic package covering one
of the genre's most important artists. Click

March 1, 2009: Lonesome Otis announces the release of their first CD entitled "Fighting
Loneliness"- Packed with 16 songs the CD was recorded
and mastered by Eric Uglum at New Wine Studios in Apple
Valley, CA. It includes a healthy mixture of traditional,
contemporary and gospel bluegrass songs that LO hopes will
provide hours of listening enjoyment. Click
