Featured SWBA Member Band:
The 2007 Arizona Bluegrass Band contest winners, Virtual
Strangers has been a SWBA member band for many years, and they
are anything but strangers to the SoCal bluegrass scene. The
band was formed in Napa, CA in 1992, and played locally with
great success. In 1996, three of the band members were relocated
to San Diego, and Virtual Strangers was reborn, though with a
different lead guitar. Anyone who has been to San Diego's
excellent Summergrass Festival in Vista, has heard the band.
They have also played festivals at Parkfield, Grass Valley,
Bakersfield, Fruita, Blythe, Hemet, Julian, Ramona, Prescott,
Benson, Wickenburg, Yuma, and Pahrump. The Virtual Strangers
bluegrass band worked hard and paid their dues to earn their
reputation as one of California's top representatives of the

27th Annual Blythe Bluegrass
Jan 17 - 19, 2014
18 - 20, 2012 - Colorado River Fairgrounds, 11995 Olive Lake
Blvd, Blythe, California, 92225. Continuous performances on
two stages, Blythe's Bluegrass event is the first festival
of the season and one of the biggest Bluegrass events in the
U.S.A. Get ready for two huge stages, jam-packed with
musicians, all day long for 3 full days. Event goers also
enjoy the contests, quilt show, food, merchandise booths.
You can bring RV and stay at the Fairgrounds or nearby RV
Resorts, or stay at one of Blythe's 1000+ motel rooms. More
than 13,500 folks attended the 3-day event last year, with
many folks arriving the Monday before the weekend for jam
sessions around the campgrounds every night throughout the
week. Every year an array of vendors hold shop at the
festival. Be sure to stop by the various booths for some
excellent merchandise and don't forget to try out all the
great food options that are available.
